Who are we ?
Our History . . .
The ladies football club of Hereford were originally Hereford United LFC and were founded in 1991 by existing player Marcie Furness (nee Snead - retired at the end of 2006/07 Season)
11 years older and wiser the club formed alliance with Pegasus Juniors men, who play in the Hellenic league, at the beginning of the 2002 - 2003 season.
Over the years we have had upto 240 different registered players and we still have two players, Marcie Snead and Mandy Bethal registered with us today from the original squad back in 1991.
Club awards inculde winning the double in 1995, both the League cup and League Championship which promoted us into WestMidlands Premier Womens Division.
Since then we have appeared in 3 further Cup finals. Two County Cup finals, being runners-up to Ross Town Ladies and more recently League winners of 2003 - 2004 Headless Cross. Our third final was in 1997 against Stratford Ladies in the league cup where again we finished runners - up.
We now also have 7 F.A level 1 qualified coaches and 2 F.A level 2 qualified coaches, Dee Graham and Julie Nicholas.
Since joining Pegasus Juniors the club have new ambitions and are currently supporting fundraising activities to build a new ground and club house. Pegasus Juniors are 50 years old this year and the ladies are very proud to be part of such a historical club.
In 2005/06 the ladies achieve league promotion into the Premier Division and win the League cup v's Ross Town LFC.
In 2006/07 we finished the double beating Phoenix FC in the County Cup and winning the Premier league gaining promotion into the Midland Combination making Club and County history. Pegasus also made the Futsal National Finals at Sheffield.
In 2007/08 we finished bottom with a depleted squad - full of injuries. Lost in the Quarter Finals of the County Cup to Worcester LFC, lost to TNS in the 1st round of the Womens FA Cup and were just thankful to make it to the end of the season without being thrown out of the league and punished by being placed 2 leagues below!! phew!
In 2008/09 back in the West Midlands Premier League with a new manager Wayne Powell and a strong squad of 20 registered players.
